Medical coverage: The medical gender-affirming care component is designed to complement the coverage already provided by provincial health insurance. It covers up to $5,000 per procedure (to a lifetime maximum of $10,000) for eligible procedures.
Note that in order to be eligible for these services, you must provide a diagnosis of gender dysphoria from a legally qualified physician (M.D.) or nurse practitioner, and your gender-affirming care medical expenses must not already be covered by provincial health care.
• Guidance on the course of action you may want to consider in your gender-affirming journey • Legal advice on gender and name changes
